Good day to all of my friends in the Life Sports blog! I know I havent been around for a long time and I apologize. Been really busy with work, life and what not. I really miss all of you guys and gals and hope all is well.

Sometimes, it's just a good thing to pause and reflect over the fact that we are all so very fortunate to take time away from life's many travails by discussing and viewing sports. Like most of you on this forum, I enjoy pro sports. However, I don't enjoy them quite as much as I used to. And that is because back in the 50s and 60s the games were played with fewer commercials and interruptions. As a consequence games in most sports were much shorter than they are today. Naturally, this made them more fun.
I'll watch pro sports online or on TV. But I refuse to spend any money on them. I still go to some college games, especially those games which are for free. Here in the Twin Cities we have several Division III schools and many of their events do not charge entry fees. That makes it a lot of fun. But it is high school sports that remain my favorites. Great fun, lots of good sportsmanship. And it is great to have your neighbors rather than strangers sitting next to you as you cheer on the youth of your areas. I'm getting rather old. But youth sports keep me young. And it is fun that I llok forward to and just can never pass up!
